Job Title:       Medical Assistant

Reports To:    Director of Development – Clinic Operations

This is a non-exempt position and will report to the Director of Development – Clinic Operations.  The Medical Assistant is responsible for both front and back office duties at 4 Your Health Center – a SIHO Insurance Services health center.

Brief Description of Duties:

  • Provide face-to-face contact with patients, responsible for providing superior customer service to patients and their families.
  • Greet, register, check-in patients, and ensure all correct documentation is received from patient.
  • Scheduling of appointments
  • Answer phones
  • Assisting with inventory of supplies
  • Assist the provider in caring for the patient by:
    • Preparing exam rooms for patients
    • Checking vitals
    • Completing the reason for visit
    • Starting the appointment with the provider
    • Providing testing, injections
    • Discharging patient
      • Dispense medications
      • Schedule follow-up appointments
      • Schedule testing
      • Check-out
  • Attending and participating in weekly staff meetings

Minimum Skills Requirement:

  • Possess a passion for customer service
  • Be a team player
  • 3 to 5 years experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical physician practice
  • Certified Medical Assistant preferred
  • Good knowledge of the health care industry
  • Excellent writing and speaking skills
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Ability and willingness to learn and work in electronic medical records and practice management environment
  • Ability to work at a self-directed pace in a changing, multi-task environment
  • Professional appearance and presence
